Expenses and payments
In 2015-16, Cancer Council Australia's organisational expenditure totalled $10.8 million, an increase of 6% on the previous year.
The level of spending for the organisation varies from year to year as the range of activities to support our member bodies, and the costs associated with them, also vary. This expenditure includes our investment in health strategies and activities to reduce the impact of cancer, more details of which are outlined in the Driving change and Sharing information sections of this report.
Administrative overhead expenses, which represent the cost of running the organisation including infrastructure such as rental and other occupancy items, depreciation, communication and insurance, amounted to $606,649 in 2015-16 and represented 6% of total expenses, on par with the previous financial year.
