Cancer Council NT continues to raise funds to support Territorians impacted by cancer diagnosis including their loved ones. Events in 2017 have collectively raised $778,573 for the fight to beat cancer.

A total of 2,999 contacts were assisted with information and support services to help reduce the impact of cancer among Territorians. A wide range of programs and services were delivered to help anyone affected by cancer.

Welcome to Cancer Council Northern Territory’s Annual Review, reporting on our progress and performance for 2017.
Cancer Council Northern Territory is a non-government, charitable, community based organisation committed to raising funds for the purpose of reducing the impact of cancer. It achieves this by providing information and support for people affected by cancer.
Cancer Council Northern Territory is a member of Cancer Council Australia. We work together with other State Cancer Councils to:

Support We offer a range of services to support anyone affected by cancer. Last year we helped thousands of Australians get the support they need answering over hundreds of calls through our 13 11 20 information and support line. |

Research We participate in funding more cancer research than any other non-government organisation in Australia. |

Prevention
We know that preventing cancer is one of the most effective ways of creating a cancer free future. We develop programs that encourage and empower people to lead healthier lifestyles to help reduce their cancer risk. |

Advocacy We work with the community to change laws and policies to reduce cancer risks and improve cancer care. |
This Annual Review describes some of the broad range of activities we undertook in 2017 in our effort to achieve this vision, and reduce the impact of cancer in the Northern Territory.
