Expenses and payments
In 2016-17, Cancer Council Australia's organisational expenditure totalled $10.9 million, an increase of 1% on the previous year.
The level of spending for the organisation varies from year to year as the range of activities to support our member bodies, and the costs associated with them, also differs annually. This expenditure includes our investment in health strategies and activities to reduce the impact of cancer.
Administrative overhead expenses, which represent the cost of running the organisation – including infrastructure such as rental and other occupancy items, depreciation, communication and insurance – amounted to $616,782 in 2016-17. This represented 6% of total expenses, on par with the previous financial year.
